CHOOSING THE RIGHT COLLEGE
Who says you can't use purple to help guide you when picking your future college. Well, there might be a few other considerations to choose first, but here at PURPLEOLOGIST we like to consider purple pride in every part of life. But let's check in with reality first. There are 3 major components to researching which college will be right for you. Choosing a college is not easy for everyone.

3 Important Considerations For Picking the Right College
Is the College Right For Your Major?
The choice of picking the correct college is strongly influenced by the students particular field of interest. The considered college must offer the majors in the area of interest. For instance, if you plan to major in purple, then selecting a college with only orange for a major would not be a good choice.
Of course you want to make your selection on the quality of the program as well. Research several colleges with your major and find out which is the best. This includes researching the hiring rate upon graduation for each particular school.
Is the Setting Right For YOU?
Beyond academia, there are other factors to take into consideration. Four years is the average time spent while getting a bachelor's degree, so considering the setting of the school is important. Size and location should be considered. Would you rather attend a large school or a smaller school? Some colleges are as big a town, where as some may just be the size of your high school. A large school may give you a greater sense of independence, where as a small school will have smaller class sizes, making it more personal.
Besides large or small, you may look into the location. Do you want to be in a large downtown setting or off in the countryside?
Climate, do not forget climate! The average college student walks or rides their bike to class. Consider being outside during your commute throughout most of the year. Will long, cold, snowy winters work for you?
Will the Cost of Tuition be Right For You?
Another important consideration is the cost of tuition for the college of your choice. Will the setback cost be worth choosing one college over another? Tuition is a hefty price and is increasing year after year. However, aid offers and scholarships can offset some of the cost, so be sure to research each school and what help they may provide.
