The Meaning of the Color Purple
Purple represents so many things. Last week, in our first blog article, we talked about purple, the meaning of being a PURPLEologist and about how 'purple people' are passionate.
Today, we'd like to dig a bit deeper into the color purple as it pertains to healing.
Have you ever wondered
- why are people so passionate about purple?
- why does wearing purple make us happy, strong and confident?
- why does purple look good on just about anyone?
- why do we see purple stores, purple people and PURPLEologists everywhere, like no other color?
Let's go dig into the meaning of the color purple!
The 7th Chakra - Purple (Violet)
From Chakras.info we learn "Purple (or white) is the color of the crown chakra (seventh chakra): The universal, connection with spirituality and consciousness."
Then new age spirituality reminds us that we should "use colors to promote those qualities you wish to emphasize. Use them in your surroundings for qualities you wish to emphasize permanently. Wear clothes of appropriate colors to promote those qualities in a particular situation."
As they explain each color we get to purple and we read
"Purple is associated with power, both earthly and spiritual. In healing, purple is used for mental disorders and also for becoming one with Spirit. In the aura purple signifies higher spiritual development."
